Trend Spotting Maison & Objet Paris 2015

Our Co-founders & designers, Tina Nicole and Khai Mai, just returned from THE premiere Home Decor trade fair in Paris, France – Maison&Objet, nicknamed “Paris Fashion Week.” The show focuses on all things decorating, design, furniture, accessories, textiles, fragrances, children’s furnishings, tableware, etc. Professional designers and decorators from all of the world attend the show for inspiration and to uncover the imminent trends in home decor and contemporary living.

Maison&Objet’s history dates back to 1995, making this year the 20th anniversary. The show displays lifestyle effects in a 360° perspective, while projecting into the future of home living. Maison&Objet says to “expect the unexpected,” and each year this statement holds true.

To highlight Tina and Khai’s experience, see photos of trends they spotted below from this year’s Maison&Objet show:

BROKEN-IN/RELAXED

A broken-in, relaxed-look was everywhere.

LIGHT WOOD TONES

Light wood tones, showing the grain is important. Mid-century styling continues to dominate too.

ORGANIC SHAPES

Designers are greatly inspired by organic shapes.

QUILTED & CABLE KNIT MATERIALS

Quilted fabrics and large tufting compliment the broken-in relaxed look (Tina loves this!). Grey, soft pinks and copper tones abound.

To sum it up, furnishing and color trends included broken in/relaxed, light wood grains, mid-century inspired shapes, earth tones – mostly light grays with pops of pastel pinks and cable knit materials – all of which caught the attention of designers and decorators.

With the new-found trends in mind, and a fresh take on all things trendy, Tina and Khai look forward to creating new remarkable furniture pieces in the year 2015.

Nathan Anthony’s Most Liked Instagram Photos of 2014

Instagram has become a social media hub for photographers, designers, bloggers, vloggers, manufacturers, singers, models, actors and much, much more! The platform allows individuals to show their creativity and unique style in photos as well as share their most precious moments to their followers in real time.

We at Nathan Anthony began our Instagram journey in June 2014, and have been blown away by the positive feedback we receive on a daily basis! We believe it is a perfect platform for us to “show off” our brand and introduce our new and upcoming pieces in a real time feed. We enjoy inviting our “fans” to get a taste of what it is like behind the scenes at Nathan Anthony.

To highlight a few of our favorite moments and what is trending in today’s furniture fashion, here is a countdown of our top 5 most liked Instagram photos in 2014!

#5 – TESSA DINING CHAIRS + NICOLETTE ARM CHAIR

In October we shared a photo of our just-made Nicolette arm chair and Tessa dining chairs. These chairs were covered in a beautiful velvet we call Glisten midnight, with pewter nailheads. The Nicolette arm chair has Swarovski crystal nailheads! These chairs are chic and universal. We have found them used as dining, living or even family room chairs.

#4 – SABINE SOFA IN BEAUTIFUL CARIBBEAN BLUE

Our followers really respond to images we post of our Sabine collection in finishing. Being able to see the way it looks in different fabrics is inspiring.  This collection makes a unique and luxurious style statement. And, in a beautiful Caribbean blue velvet, it’s the ulitmate California-look for high-style decor.

#3 – LEATHER ERES SOFA AND PLEATED TRITON OTTOMAN

Although we get lots of likes on all of our furniture and photos, this one takes it home for us. Here is a photo of our Eres sofa in a gorgeous pebble colored leather and a coordinated pleated Triton ottoman. This photo received positive and share-worthy feedback, such as – “Nice one!,” “I love that sofa!” “beautiful!” and our favorite, “So Spicy!” This is why we love posting to our social media platforms. We enjoy hearing your feedback and connecting.

#2 – GENEVIEVE SOFA

Our photo of our new Genevieve sofa, received comments like: “Furniture Perfection!” She is a timeless classic. She’s shown in a beautiful contemporary cover with antique brass nailheads. Genevieve is clean and contemporary, and perfect for any stylish abode.

#1 – CEO AND DESIGNER KHAI MAI PERFECTING THE PERLE SOFA

Hitting first place as our number one most liked Instagram photo is our photo of our CEO and Designer Khai Mai perfecting our Perle Sofa. The Perle Sofa was a popular piece in the year 2014, and continues to be a fan favorite. The photo also shows how the founders and designers Khai and his wife Tina are involved in the daily operations, making sure each piece is made to the high standards a Nathan Anthony product requires.
