A Year in Review: Highlights 2015

At the heart of Nathan Anthony Furniture are its spirited designers and the beautiful silhouettes they create. With a dynamic management team and the best artisans Los Angeles can offer, Nathan Anthony has had a stellar year. Let’s take a look at the designs that captured the hearts of decor enthusiasts around the globe in 2015.

BONN SOFA & ARCHITECTE CHAIR

The year’s highlight was the Award Win at the 2015 Design et al Design and Architecture Awards Gala held in London on September 25, 2015. The Bonn Sofa, designed by Tina Nicole, won the International Product Design Award for SOFA category, beating out four other international nominees. We were excited to be shortlisted also in the CHAIR category for our Architecte chair.

ELAN COLLECTION

The Elan Collection, with its eye-catching geometric back panel treatment, a Mondrian-inspired silhouette, was the highlight of the year. The collection started out with a sectional, matching chair, bed and bench in April. By October, the collection grew to include a sweetheart settee, some waterfall benches and three occasional chairs, including a limited edition Elan/S chair that was dubbed the “IT” chair at October High Point Market.

THE GABLE SECTIONAL & WILSHIRE SECTIONAL

Our Gable sectional features a clean, contemporary silhouette. In addition to architecturally shaped metal legs, Gable sports a unique stitching treatment that frames the outside arm and back for extra eye appeal when the piece is floated in a room. Our Wilshire sectional is a Danish modern-inspired take on Nathan Anthony’s best-selling, clean-lined transitional Haus collection. It includes a bench seat and steel base in three different finishes — polished chrome, modern brass and gunmetal.

THE PHOXIE/U & THE ANSONIA/U

Like the plunging jumpsuits from the runways in Milan, our Phoxie/U and Ansonia/U chairs are sure to add sophistication and catch the eye in any interior setting.

THE VALENTINO BENCH

Our new Valentino bench features a modern shape upholstered in a white, Tibetan lamb cover. Fun and modern, the Valentino bench can be used as an accent seat in a living area or to dress up the end of a bed.

Although 2015 is coming to a close, we look forward to 2016 as our Elan/S limited edition chair was shortlisted for the IPDA 2016 CHAIR award as well as our Elan settee shortlisted for the IPDA 2016 SOFA award!

We want to thank our customers for an amazing year! Khai and Tina wish all of you blessings of joy, peace and prosperity now and always.

So, since we started our Instagram account @NathanAnthony_Furn, we’ve been sharing our top “liked” posts for the year.  Now that it’s December – Hello December! – it’s time to reflect. Let’s look at what was trending in 2015 and also predict what will be hot next year.

Contemporary design paired with classical elements was super hot and gives us ideas on how to incorporate the two genres for 2016.

ELAN SECTIONAL

Geometric statements, showcasing the backside of the silhouette was a fresh take on design and will continue catching the eye in 2016.

GOBI CHAIR

Minimalism and a pared down aesthetic as seen in our Gobi collection was very popular, especially for projects with limited space. We believe the demand for this look will grow in popularity next year.

As you can see, Instagram is a fun place us for us to show off. It’s a place where we get to know our customers’ likes and preferences and share our most precious memories. The best thing for us is when our customers tag us and show how proud they are of their interior design installations showcasing our furniture. This is the best affirmation for what we do – making furniture – every day. We will then re-post their image to our fans – they get inspiration, share tips and trends and hear feedback from those who matter most – our customers!
