WestEdge and the SoCal Design Community

This November was our first time exhibiting at WestEdge Design Fair, and it proved to be an energizing way to close the year. Much of the conversation centered on recovery from the Palisades fires. Designers from across the region were assessing the projected rebuilding timeline and how it will influence client expectations and project planning.

They compared approaches, shared practical strategies and offered perspective on what the next few years may hold. It was a powerful lineup, thanks in part to the WestEdge organizers and contributor Josh Cooperman of Convo by Design.

For Nathan Anthony, WestEdge gave us the chance to connect with many of you and to share our approach as an L.A. manufacturer focused on customization and thoughtful craftsmanship. Our booth featured miniature 3D-printed versions of some of our most popular upholstery designs. I loved watching designers and attendees delighted by these maquettes.

In our booth, we enjoyed meeting with designers from Los Angeles, Palm Springs, Santa Barbara, Pasadena and beyond, including Claudia Afshar, Stephen Pappas, Rachel Moriarty and Jeanne and Raymond Chung of Cozy Stylish Chic.

WestEdge made it clear how interconnected this community is and how much we gain when we collaborate, especially in seasons of change.

As we step into 2026, we remain focused on supporting your work with the customization, craft and partnership you expect from us. I’m excited for what’s ahead

Made with Love: A Los Angeles Legacy

Nathan Anthony isn’t just a brand born in LA—it’s a family business founded on passion, precision, and the belief that furniture should be more than just beautiful. It should be crafted with care and built to last.

Being LA-made isn’t just about location—it’s a philosophy shaped by the city’s rich culture of creativity and craftsmanship. This spirit continues to inspire how we approach manufacturing today, ensuring that every piece we create reflects the innovation and artistry that defines Los Angeles. Manufacturing locally allows us to be hands-on in every stage of production. Unlike mass-market manufacturers and furniture importers, we have more control over our costs and we don’t cut corners or compromise on quality. Instead, we empower our artisans to perfect each stitch, refine every detail, and push the boundaries of design.

In 2016, Khai took this commitment further by implementing a proprietary lean manufacturing system inspired by the Toyota Production System. This shift revolutionized our workflow—reducing waste, improving efficiency, and creating an environment where craftsmanship thrives. Every piece is made to order, ensuring the highest quality while embracing sustainability.

Being based in LA also means standing with our community in its toughest moments. Last month’s wildfires left lasting scars on landscapes we cherish. Like so many, we faced the fear of evacuation, the uncertainty of what would come next, and the heartbreaking loss of familiar places.

Yet, through adversity, our city’s resilience, creativity, and compassion shone through—values that also drive our approach to craftsmanship. We believe that great design has the power to rebuild, restore, and provide comfort, just as our community has shown strength in rebuilding after hardship. We are incredibly proud to be part of LACanDo.org, a collective of designers and manufacturers working together to furnish homes for those displaced by the fires. This initiative reaffirms what we’ve always believed: design isn’t just about aesthetics—it’s about creating spaces of comfort, healing, and home.

A Season of Gratitude

As we approach the end of another year, I find myself reflecting on the many joys that come with operating Nathan Anthony. I am truly fortunate to work alongside my family—including my husband, Khai, our son, Nathan Anthony, my sister-in-law, Nina and my cousin, Courtland—who bring their passion and dedication to everything we do. It’s an incredible feeling to know we’re not just building beautiful furniture, but also nurturing a family legacy.

We are also grateful for the amazing team that makes up Nathan Anthony. Whether they’ve been with us for years or just recently joined our staff, each person brings something special to the table. Together, we’ve created a culture that feels more like a close-knit family than just a team. It’s the support of these wonderful people that allows us to navigate the stresses of everyday work with a sense of camaraderie and comfort.

During this festive season, we take time to celebrate this incredible team. Our annual holiday gathering is one of my favorite traditions; it’s a time to come together, share a meal, play silly games, and simply enjoy each other’s company outside of the daily responsibilities. Breaking bread with the individuals we work with daily, we feel deep gratitude for their role in building our work community. It’s a reminder of the importance of community, and the deep gratitude we feel for each person who plays a role in bringing our vision to life.

We’ll be closing our warehouse from December 24th to January 5th, allowing our team to recharge and spend time with their loved ones. This break gives everyone the opportunity to enjoy the holidays and return in the new year ready to take on exciting challenges and continue creating exceptional products together.

Reflecting on all that we’ve accomplished and the relationships we’ve built, I’m reminded of how lucky we are to do what we love, surrounded by the people we love. Here’s to another year of growth, collaboration, and gratitude.
