Nathan Anthony to showcase rising talent and furniture for well-being at HPMKT
Fall High Point Market is almost here and we are excited to announce namesake, Nathan Anthony Mai, is set to introduce his new upholstered chair “Bear” at High Point Market in October. We’re hosting an event in our showroom IH-602 on Sunday Oct 15 from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm centered around chatting with a GEN-Z Designer about wellness in furniture design and how his generation thinks and talks about mental health. RSVP
Nathan, son to Tina and Khai, who’s currently in his final year at Otis College of Art and Design, created “Bear” as a junior year project, with a focus on emotional, comfort-based design. He believes living with design that lifts your mood and brightens your spirit can have a positive impact on your daily life. During the meet-and-greet, Nathan will discuss the motivation behind the design and meet with Nathan Anthony Furniture buyers at the market, something he’s been doing for the past four years.

The company’s principals, Tina Nicole and Khai Mai, will be on hand to welcome the attendees. “We’re excited for Nathan to participate in the family business by bringing a fresh perspective to the work we’re known for,” said Nicole, who co-founded the company with her husband in 2005 and additionally serves as the brand’s creative director. “The next generation of buyers will expect more from the furnishings they purchase, and our industry needs to be ready for this shift” says Tina.

Nathan Anthony Furniture’s decision to introduce the next-generation designer and his chair at High Point Market is a smart move. By embracing the change that comes with new, young designers and their fresh perspectives, the company is positioning itself as a forward-thinking brand that’s ready to meet the changing needs of their customers. With the increasing demand for comfort and emotional satisfaction in design, Nathan’s Bear chair seems like a perfect fit for the current market. We can’t wait to see what else this family-run business will bring to the table in the future.
